Destiny Heist
Be discerned about your purpose and mission
The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy. See John 10:10.
No, this is not a message about how envious friends, colleagues, or even family want your life, or ancestral rivals being the reason for underachievers in your family.
This, this is a little more unsettling.
First, let's unpack the idea of ‘destiny.’
When you enter into this life, you are born with a purpose and a mission, which can be defined as your destiny.
To be intentionally led away from your purpose and mission could be construed as theft, with the understanding that whoever or whatever is leading you away is trying to steal your destiny for themselves.
Let's say it is.
Let's say that constantly being misled and pointed away from your pre-determined reason for being alive is theft.
Now, let's consider the last 20+ years, during which an entire generation was told that the path to wealth, success, and stability lay through engineering and information technology.
Yes, there is some validity to the necessity of the skills acquired through formal education and training as an engineer or information technologist, but what if you were meant to be a sketch illustrator to help children with learning disabilities? What if you were meant to be a welder or a metallurgical artisan? (Is that a thing? It should be.)
I watched the aggressive push to get everyone to aspire to tech superstardom, complete with advertising of big salaries and the doom and gloom of being obsolete as a human otherwise.
This is how the opposition operates.
Fear. Anxiety. Inadequacy. People pleasing. Shame. Greed. Comparison. Insecurity.
If you feel any of the above while deciding or pursuing anything, tread carefully.
Restaurants, arcades, theatres, and other community fixtures have closed up and been forgotten because so many people were convinced to forget themselves. Forget their natural gifts and talents. Forget their passion and what makes them happy. Forget their purpose and mission. Forget their destiny.
Why? Because they fell for the lies and deception of the enemy and fed the greed of others.
Now, droves of people are being told they are redundant, worthless, or even too expensive to employ when they’re thinking to themselves, “But I thought this was what I was supposed to do… I was doing what I was told to do?!
Classic rug pull.
This is the necessity of discernment and focus in this season. When we are aligned with the Most High, there are often major efforts by the enemy to derail, distract, and discourage us from staying on our intended paths. The gifts of God like ease, flow, and progress can be taken from us leaving us with loads of frustration as we are left to strive, toil, and grind. However, the more confident and grounded we are in our identity in Christ, the less likely we will pivot to fishing in unprofitable waters. John 21:6.
Dear God,
Thank You that I came into this world complete and ready for my mission. I repent for any time I have doubted or deviated from what was intended for me. I welcome Your correction and divine insights. Thank You for re-ordering my steps and directing my path, leading me onto the path of righteousness. I humbly surrender to Your will and way. Thank You for Your grace and mercy.
In Your Holy Name, Amen.
