Refiner's Fire Series: Faith
The God of possibility
I write this after witnessing a testimony.
I was on a call with an associate when he suddenly told me to call him back. When I called him back, instead of hearing a ring, I heard an automated message saying his phone wasn’t accepting calls at this time. I tried a few more times. Same message. About 10 minutes later, he calls me back, telling me that his phone had been disconnected.
Here’s what happened.
During our initial call, I was telling him about this very Refiners Fire Series I was writing, encouraging him in some of the efforts he was involved in, and reminding him that God is the giver and the gift. God made the door, the doorknob, the lock, and the key. God is the absolute door. I was reminding him of Neville Goddard’s teaching that we should not concern ourselves with HOW something will happen, but trust and believe God’s promises so that something can come to fruition. God works out the how.
On our subsequent call, he told me that during the short time his phone was disconnected, he received not one but TWO emails from TWO DIFFERENT contacts informing him that they had won contracts and were interested in including his business as a subcontractor. He also received a message that a seller was interested in some real estate he’d had for sale for some time.
All in 10 minutes.
This is why we must stay alert. When we are on the edge of a breakthrough, our faith is tested in this way. A trial will present itself to distract us, to move us to using our own mouth to curse what God is about to bless. We are challenged to keep the faith and not be moved by appearances.
The Most High God is a God of possibility, the God of the suddenly. Challenge yourself to remove the guardrails and the conditions of your faith and simply believe.
This testimony was so energizing that I had to write this now. So, if you’re having a hard time keeping your faith strong, meditate on God’s promises:
Hebrews 11:1: Shows that faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
Hebrews 11:6: Shows that faith is essential to pleasing God, because we must believe that He exists and rewards those who seek Him.
James 2:17: Shows that faith without actions is dead.
Matthew 17:20: Shows that even faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains.
2 Corinthians 5:7: Shows that we are called to walk by faith, not by sight.
Proverbs 3:5-6: Shows that we should trust God completely rather than rely on our own understanding.
Dear God,
Thank You, God, for the gift of faith and for Your unfailing presence in every season of my life. Help me to trust You even when I cannot see the way forward, and to believe in Your promises despite how my circumstances may look. Strengthen my faith so that I may walk boldly, knowing that with You, all things are possible. Remind me that even faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains. Guard my heart from doubt, and fill me with assurance that You are always at work, bringing good out of every situation. Let my faith be alive and active, drawing me closer to Your purpose and glory.
In the holy and matchless name of Yahusha Hamashiach, Jesus Christ, Amen.
